Meet the team at United Lions

United Lions is a solid team of former professional footballers, practising lawyers and licensed agents; in this way we bring together the experience and contacts our clients expect, together with a wealth of business and legal acumen. Find out some more about the people who make up the United Lions team.

David Ajemian

David Ajemian is our Chief Executive Officer. He was born and raised in Lebanon and became a professional footballer in the Lebanese league between 1997-2005. He then chose to develop his interest in Basketball and quickly became involved in finding and placing international players in Lebanon. This progressed to clubs throughout the Gulf countries and within Europe.

David moved to London in 2006 and now conducts business between the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Since moving to England David has been accredited by FIBA and FIFA as a licensed players agent for both basketball and football, and is now ideally placed to use his international knowledge and skills to provide the best possible services for his clients.

David's sporting background gives him unique insight into the needs of his clients, helping him to secure the perfect contract for them at the right time in their career. Multi-lingual negotiation and inside knowledge of the countries and clubs in which players will work, allows clients to rest assured that they will be well looked after and fully prepared to meet the demands of their contract.

Mark Culbert

Mark is our in-house Counsel and a Senior Partner in iLaw, a law firm in the City of London. He is ranked in The Legal 500 as a Leading Individual.

With nearly 20 years of legal experience, Mark is well placed to both advise our clients and to negotiate contracts on their behalf.

He recently represented 8 corporate clients in the largest dispute in the United Kingdom; the 1 billion US dollar dispute between the Kazakh JSC BTA Bank and Mukhtar Ablyazov and others. He also worked on the Tajik Aluminium litigation in London (a 450 million US dollar fraud claim).

Mark acted for the successful party in the reported Court of Appeal case of BWE and Jones and for Domino's Pizza in its High Court dispute with UEFA following the Euro 2004 Finals. His clients include many household names and high profile individuals.

In addition to his legal practice, Mark has been a Director of a recruitment business and is a licensed FA Player's Agent.

He is the Chairman of the IT Disputes Group of the Society for Computers & Law, an ADR Group Accredited Mediator and sits on the users committee of the Technology and Construction Court. He has experience both of executing search and seizure orders and acting as a Court appointed supervising solicitor.

Mark has regularly been invited to speak at national conferences on intellectual property and IT disputes.

Kerry Mayo

Kerry is a former professional footballer and won three promotions, including two championships, with Brighton & Hove Albion in 2001 and 2002. He was runner-up for the Player of the Year Award in 2003 and is one of only a handful of players to have played for the club at three different home grounds, the Goldstone Ground, Priestfield Stadium and the Withdean Stadium.

He has been closely involved with the Professional Footballers Association throughout his career.

During his 14 years at Brighton, Kerry played in over 410 league and cup games and scored 12 goals. On 14 July, 2009, at the age of 31, Kerry announced his retirement from professional football after failing to recover from an injury.

Having had experience with agents in the past who have promised one thing and not delivered the goods, Kerry knows exactly what a player requires and how to look after their best interests. His many years of experience also enable him to act as a mentor and career adviser to younger players.

Kerry has a wide network of managers and other contacts at clubs across all divisions of the English football league.
